An American businessman whose promotion of a black-box safety device for cars was supported by senator Donie Cassidy has left the Four Seasons hotel in Ballsbridge without settling a €100,000 bill.

Last week, Tony Geller, manager of the European Safety Data Vault (ESDV) project, checked out of his luxury suite in the 5-star hotel from which he had been running the company. He did not settle his bill nor leave a forwarding address.
